Mike graduated from a 2,200 hour Massage Therapy diploma programme in 2006. He started his own practice immediately, focusing on sports massage and shoulder injuries, and worked on-site at sporting events. In 2008 he left Ontario for an opportunity to live and work in Banff, Alberta.
He left the Rimrock Resort Hotel and Spa in late 2010 to once again start his own practice, this time in Calgary. Although the Rimrock was an amazing experience, he prefers having his own client base to monitor the effectiveness of his treatments. He got interested in Maternal Massage working at the Rimrock, and has since taken a specialization course with the Canadian College of Massage and Wellness.
Mike is a proud member in good standing of the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada as a Registered Massage Therapist. He can issue receipts for insurance claims. He is licensed as a Massage Practioner by the City of Calgary.
He has also taken a hot stone course with the Hot Stone Company, though does not offer hot stone at the moment, a myofascial release course with Natale Rao, and an Emergency Medical Responder course to further his own knowledge of health and safety. He has written several articles about Massage Therapy, and plans to help further educate people on the profession, new findings, and what one can do at home to get the most out of their massage treatments.
